In the Author’s Own Words: Jennifer Crystal

Jennifer Crystal, author of One Tick Stopped the Clock, shares what’s new. Check it out below!

“I was thrilled to be Sandy Markwart Speer's conversation partner for the launch of I Want You to Know at Grub Street Creative Writing Center in Boston. Sandy was my Writing to Heal student in 2015 and I had the honor of working closely with her through many drafts of her book. Her journey is an inspiration to other students, and I'm so grateful to have had the full-circle moment of being in conversation together.

I'm excited about some other events in the Boston area. On February 25th I'll be in conversation with author Melanie Brooks at Wellesley Books, where we'll also offer a mini-memoir writing workshop. Two nights later, I'll be giving a talk at my local library in Concord, MA. I've loved connecting with readers who range from Lyme patients to physicians to memoir readers who appreciate the power of personal narrative.

I'm honored to have been selected as one of four memoirists for a local and independent memoir series at RJ Julia Bookseller in Middletown, CT on March 5th. Since I'm originally from CT and much of my convalescence from chronic illness took place there, this will be another nice full-circle opportunity.

In April, I'll be giving an author talk at a retirement community in New Hampshire, where One Tick Stopped the Clock has apparently "made the rounds." It's wonderful that the book is reaching so many different people, and I look forward to connecting with more of them as the tour continues!
